Aim of the challenge

Robots will navigate an obstacle course of unknown design (and different to last year's) by remote control aiming to complete the course as quickly as possible.

Special rules

All obstacles must be attempted.

Ranking and points

The amount of time taken to complete the obstacle course will be ranked and the following points awarded:

  • 1st: 40 points
  • 2nd: 32 points
  • 3rd : 25 points
  • 4th : 18 points
  • 5th : 15 points
  • 6th : 12 points
  • 7th : 10 points
  • 8th : 8 points
  • 9th : 6 points
  • 10th : 4 points
  • 11th : 2 points
  • 12th : 1 point

Additional points:

  • For each successfully completed part of the obstacle course, you will gain 10 points.
  • If you complete all obstacles successfully, you will gain an additional 5 points.

Penalties:

  • You may skip obstacles but you will not gain points for skipped obstacles.
  • For each skipped obstacle, your overall time will be increased by 30 seconds.

  1. Special Rules and Penalties contradict each other. Do you have to attempt each part of the course? (I am intending to!)

    1. *reads* Ooh, yeah. They do don’t they.
      Basically, we want everyone to attempt every obstacle. It’s difficult to get that balance between being able to skip them and getting a time benefit by doing so.
